I’m completely over the notion that juicing has to cost an arm and a leg; with the right tips, simple and affordable juice recipes, it does not.
Can it? Sure! Anything can cost more than it needs to. But, with the right resources and know-how, provided in the download, it can be as cheap or as expensive as you’d like it to be. You dictate the quality and the cost.
These three juice recipes are not only affordable, but they also are super simple to make! Instead of loading up the fridge with 15 different veggies and having space for nothing else (not to mention some going bad if you don’t get to it all), you’re only going to need 5 different items! Yup, five items to make four different kinds of simple and affordable juice recipes.
You can always add in spices, other veggies, especially if you have something that needs to be used. I’ve provided a few optional additions in the printable download to try.
The kids will enjoy these juice recipes too! My oldest actually had the idea to add a little ginger to the Evergreen juice—absolutely son!
THE JUICES
We truly believe the juices we make taste as good as they do because we go one step further. We won’t tell you, “oh grab about 3 carrots, 2 apples, and 1 beet, and throw it in the juicer” — NO. How big of a carrot? How big is the apple? and the beet? Depending on the size of the produce, each juice made will taste very different from the first. To make the best tasting juice we have always, and recommended, you weigh out each ingredient. And we have done all the work for you. All you need is a scale that measures in oz, and a sharp knife for chopping. Here are the juices in the pdf download you can grab below;
THE BABY L.
Carrot | Granny Smith Apples | Orange
This is a take on our Linus Von C which has a few more ingredients in it. Carrots provide lots of beta carotene, are great for the skin, digestion, vision, and it’s a powerhouse of antioxidants to avoid inflammatory disruptions. Granny Smith apples provide the right amount of tartness, and the oranges give you an extra vitamin C boost.
STEP TO THE BEET
Beet | Granny Smith Apples | Carrot
One of our most popular and easiest blends to make. Beets are good for the endocrine system, the heart, bloodstream, and moves a vast amount of new oxygen into the body. We always recommend starting slow with the amount of beet juice to get the body accustomed to it and then gradually increasing to your liking (directions for this process are listed in the printable). Carrots round out the flavor of beets nicely while adding on a ton of antioxidant properties. Granny Smith apples provide a little tartness and just the right amount of sweetness to bring it all together.
HAPPY BEET
Beet | Granny Smith Apples | Orange
Our second most popular take on the Beet Life which has added ginger to it, but you don’t need that here unless you’d like to. Beets are excellent for the endocrine system, the heart, bloodstream, and can rapidly energize the body. We always recommend starting slow with the amount of beet juice to get the body accustomed to it and then gradually increasing to your liking (directions for this process are listed in the printable). Oranges blend nicely with beets, giving a refreshing flavor to the juice, all while providing an extra boost of vitamin C.
EVERGREEN
Kale | Granny Smith Apples | Orange
This is a baby green juice with a vitamin C kick. You’ll be using a bit more kale to really get your vitamin K and the massive amount of vitamins and minerals it contains. Granny Smith apples really compliment the kale adding a balanced amount of sweetness. The oranges brighten up the juice giving it a nice citrus kick along with a ton of Vitamin C.
how and when to drink these
These juices are a wonderful addition to each and every day of your life. Nowadays, it’s rather hard to ensure we’re always getting the right amount of raw foods in our diet to help with digestion, energy and overall wellness, so juices are a great way to sub that in if we’re low on time, are dealing with food sensitivities, or have kids who are not so eager to chew on a carrot or eat a beet.
At home, when I get back with all the items from the grocery, I will divide it all up in quart reusable baggies (I’m in love with these ones—I use them for go-to snacks and freezer prep too) already portioned out to just throw it in the juicer. Except for apples! I explain why in the download. Otherwise, if I know we won’t have much time through the week to make them a la cart, I’ll juice enough for the next three days, and store them in 8oz mason jars.
3 day juicing kickstart
Now if you’re wanting juices with more kick, punch, slap, then I recommend checking out our 3 Day Juicing Kickstart. It contains three juices specifically designed to target restoration in the three key areas of digestion, inflammation, and immunity. There are a few more ingredients to each juice, a shopping list, step-by-step prep guide, juicing instructions, and more. For more of a transformation to kick off a consistent habit of juicing, the 3DJK is the way to go.
Otherwise, for an easy transition into juicing, start with the four juices in this post and then go from there.
a note on autoimmune deficiencies + health conditions
I am not a doctor. If you or anyone in your family has an autoimmune condition or health concern, please consult your doctor before juicing. There are certain precautions to take to make juicing safe for autoimmune dis-eases (it may help in some cases), and specific kinds of juices to make with reduced or no sugar to maintain a healthy blood sugar level.
In any case, please ask your health professional about any dietary restrictions you may have. Then please share with us so we can help adjust the recipe to fit your health needs and concerns.
